HIGH GARTH
High Garth was a detached brick house, formerly on the site of the current dwellings now known as High Garth and Chapel Garth.
Percy and Winifred Atkinson lived here. Percy had a haulage business and built offices to the rear which can be viewed in the pictures of Kingwood.
One of his regular journeys was collectng the milk churns from the surrounding farms before transporting them to Leeds Dairy.
The house was demolished to make way for the present-day dwellings.
Up until High Garth was demolished it was occupied by Percy and Winifred’s daughter Anne(Overend)
